The Qassam Brigades, a branch of the Hamas armed forces, posted a video on October 11 that appeared to show them releasing three Israeli hostages.

In the video, several men, believed to be Hamas gunmen, are seen walking away after leaving behind three hostages, including a woman and two children, in an open area near the fence on the Gaza border.

The Qassem Brigade said the woman in the video was an Israeli hostage.

It is unclear when the video was recorded.

The Israeli side has not confirmed the release of this hostage.

The Israeli army also announced continued air strikes on the Gaza Strip despite news of Hamas releasing hostages.

On the morning of October 7, Hamas suddenly launched thousands of rockets toward Israel.

Hamas has not yet set conditions for the hostages’ release, but the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel could be one of the conditions.

`There are many Palestinians being detained in the US on charges of funding Hamas. We will request their release,` said Hamas force spokesman Ali Barakeh on October 10.

It is estimated that nearly 5,200 Palestinian citizens are being held in prisons in Israel.

Although Israel declared a siege and prepared for a comprehensive attack on the Gaza Strip, Hamas’s holding of hostages is hindering this campaign.

Gaza’s densely populated terrain, network of underground tunnels and large numbers of men, women and children held captive have left Israel facing its most complex hostage crisis to date.

Israeli officials believe that Hamas is holding hostages in underground facilities.

He admitted that despite experience with hostage rescues, Israel had never faced this type of situation.

Responding to the question of whether Israel was actually preparing a ground attack on Gaza, Mr. Conricus refused to reveal, saying only: `Obviously what we need to do is eliminate Hamas’s military capabilities.`
